Borrowed from the Sanskrit word ‘Sindhu’ which means river, specifically the indus that's been flowing past ancient routes and enduring settlements, the Sindhu has shaped not only the valley, but its spirit. Our emblem, inspired by petroglyphs etched into stone along its banks, honours this continuity—of movement, memory, and meaning.

Among these ancient rock carvings, one symbol appears again and again: the ibex. With its powerful horns and quiet resilience, the ibex has endured across centuries as one of Ladakh’s most continuous cultural links, carried through folklore, ritual, and memory.
